Double Bass Crusty Jazzers

It's no time for a Luau, but the weather in Oakland today is a sunny 68 degrees.

Evidently, it is going to cool down by 10 degrees tomorrow with a bit of wind. It may be time for the "winter coats".

Of course, it's nothing like LA where a drop of rain hits the ground and suddenly the general public acts like it is in an over the top disaster movie.:help::(:help:

Quick story:
I had my Ensemble Placement audition for school today where I am going for a Jazz Performance Degree.

The good news is that I will be placed in a setting where I can learn the stuff I really need in order to progress. The other consideration is that I really need to continue to love this process, because it is painful not being able to play at a level where I feel I have some command of the repertoire, physical proficiency on the instrument, and the ability to conceptualize playing what I hear (I have to be able to "hear" it first).

Every day is an adventure. Every note is an emergency.
