CTS Speaker Recones

One of my 1972 SVT CTS speakers is gonna need a recone. Has anyone used the kit below ? Does the speaker sound the same after recone ?

I don't know about this particular kit, they aren't all the same. If done properly with a good set of soft parts, the speaker will sound as new.

I'd contact this place, they have an excellent reputation. Have them perform the recone:

There are at least 2 (maybe 3) different CTS drivers, all had different specs. Which driver do you have? This is something a pro recone shop would know, as well as possible variants such as cone neck height.

I recall the earlier ones used a 1.5" voice coil, later ones used a 2" voice coil, but it's been a very long time since I reconed a CTS driver like that.

By the time you get done with it, you will have more money into it than it's worth also, if you are a collector than it doesn't matter, but if you plan on gigging with it, you may want to look at your options first.
