Curious to know....

Answer: Any bass that is comfortable to you.

The most I've played in a day was six one-hour sets across two gigs, a wedding followed by a club gig. I played my Sukop the entire time, which is only seven pounds. The big issue wasn't my bass but my right hand, as I had broken my middle finger and severed the tip of my ring finger just three days earlier, which left me with only my index finger to play all six hours.

oh no broken and severed tip fingers are not good i give you lots of credit for playing 6 hours like that wow..

I've played a bit over 4 hours, peforming live, using a Yamaha Motion B bass. Short scale, very lightweight and comfortable. I was newish to playing bass, but figure I could go the same amount of time (or longer) with either my Jazz or Rivoli.

Most important thing is that they are comfortable, and not overly heavy tht your muscles will begine to fatigue.
