Current CIJ/MIJ basses, what are they like?

I have the oppurtunity to pickup a 2006 Cij 62 reissue p bass in reasonable condition for a reasonable price.
Just wondering what the newer/current basses are like.

I use a jaguar bass. and have a 12 string cij strat as well. I will take a j over an a always.

are you guys reffering to the older years or the current. im just curious because i know the older years were great for the japanese fenders, just curious about the new ones circa 2006.

both! MIJ is about to about 1994 after that its CIJ.

My guitarist is about to buy an mij jaguar guitar its ill.

I find that the japanese ones come at a cheaper price with equal or better craftsmanship as americans. PLus im a sucker for lacquered necks.
