Custom Adamovic#2 about to be ordered.........

Hi Guys and Gals,

Have decided to take the plunge and place an order for my second Adamovic Bass. I absolutely love the first one beyond belief (pics on Link Removed) but would like to have a second, more simplified, kind of work-horse version of my current Bass.

Specs. as follows:
4-String, 34" Scale, 24-Frets
Undersized Jazz-style Ash body
Stabilised Birdseye Maple fretboard.
Maple set-neck
Single EMG 35-CS Pick-up
Aguilar OBP-2 Pre-amp (18v)
Two knobs (One volume, one stacked Bass/Treble)
No Switches at all (not even active/passive)
Hipshot A-style Bass Bridge (through body-stringing)
Hipshot tuners and D-tuner
Black Hardware

From regular gigging with my Jupiter model, I know exactly which knobs and switches are used often (if at all) in a playing situation so, have stripped the electronics down considerably. The woods are very straight-forwards too, but I think this Bass will turn out very cool indeed!

Just wanted to share my excitement with you all, so let me know what you think!

Cheers,

Andy

Update 28/01/07: New build pics now online, check: http://www.adamovic.nl/Bassprog/xJB002.htm!

Lovely looking bass Andy, I really like Adamovic's designs, the single-cut's especially!

Really like the sound of your "working man's" bass too, will it have the standard 2 by 2 Adamovic headstock, or something more traditional?

Also, can I be a bit cheeky and ask how much your first Adamovic bass cost? Feel free to PM me if you'd rather not mention it publicly, or to tell me to mind my own business... ;)

Cheers,
Eude

Cheers man!

The headstock will be a traditional 4-in-a-row configuration. Nikola has shown me a rough drawing and the design looks cool, just a slightly more refined Fender style.

My main idea was to have a Jazz Bass that isn't absolutely huge (as I'm a skinny bugger ;) ) with just the necessities onboard. Electronics-wise I love seeing everyone's crazy multi-parametric super systems, but for me, a straight-forward EMG/Aguilar combination does everything I need only using the Bass boost for adjusting to the venue.

If this Bass sounds even half as good as the first one, my Fodera will be up for sale shortly (No offense to Fodera, you guys are fantastic!).

Will P.M. you with a price 'indication' Eude...........

Have definately thought about and tried other pick-up makes, but just know the EMG is the sound that is right for me and for the kind of gigs I'm doing.

Benefits of the EMG (for me) are:
1) The 'sound in my head' is exactly what this single pick-up provides when set flat (with a slight Bass boost occassionally).
2) I can get my sound very easily with most amplifiers due to its clear signal.
3) Zero background hum or noise.

Would love to try out Nordstrands or various others that Talk-Bassers love, but its rare to get to try multiple pickups out unless you know a builder who stocks them all.

Am happy to hear any recommendations for an alternative if it can really give the power and clarity of this pick-up though.
