Custom Benavente SCD 5'ver on order

It should be awesome, Jai. I have a 34" singlecut with a redwood top, mahogany body, mac. ebony board, and maple neck as well, and I love the sound.
ahh... geniuses must think alike!
Awesome, J. I can't wait to see it finished. Between Chris' and Carey's work, I have drool oozing down BOTH sides of my mouth!
Congrats, brother! :)
yeah man, you and me both...

Gorgeous! Great bass for a satin finish. The vertical figuring of the redwood is going to be something against the horizontal grain of the ebony. Are the pickups going to have the same direction of figuring as the board?

Can I play it next time I'm in Atlanta? Please?

Marshall
Absolutely... (*bring the Ritter*) When's the next time you are visiting your sister?

Chris shot a few more Pictures today...

Thanks Will!

Wow - very cool indead. I am getting a Redwood topped custom Single cut built soon by Allan at Ac guitars. I have chosen a flamed redwood top so am interested in how yours is coming together.

Wow again:cool:

Great, I look forward to hearing/seeing yours as well.

That's going to be a very nice looking bass. I love flamed redwood tops.
Tom, I think that one of your basses and GooseYard's Nordstrand was my initial inspiration before the selection on that top.
Lookin' good so far, Jai!
Thanks Siff... Once it is done, you need to come over and check it out!

Nice Jai!!! My brother-in-law built a g***ar and used a flamed redwood top. It was as pale as yours to start with, and he used 8 coats of tung oil and wax finish and it turned out like this:
