Custom Cabinet Ideas

I'm working with Don at Low Down Sounds (henceforth, LDS) to build a couple of cabinets for me. I want something light and portable, and with a versatile (leaning toward vintage) sound.

Background:
I currently have an Eden WT-400 that I will be using with these cabs. I play all kinds of music, but mostly rock, funk, blues, etc, and I'm also becoming an effects junkie.

Here's what I'm leaning towards right now:
- separate 2x8 and 1x12 cabs
- 300 watts each
- 8 ohms each
- lightweight neo's

What does everyone think? Would the 2x8's and 1x12 be a good combo? Anything else I should consider? Don's been great to work with so far...I'm just looking for some other opinions.

Thanks!

ive been seriously considering this for awhile now and this is the second time in about 4 days seeing others with the same idea. im thinking 2 (2x8 + 1x12) so i can use all, 4 8s', 2 12's, and any possible combination... im also thinking of wiring each 2x8 with a series/parallel switch and wiring each cab to be series or parallel with other cabs (essentially wiring a series patch box in addition to typical wiring). this is alot of complicated wiring with a total of 16 input jacks and 2 DPDT switches, but in the long run, will be the most versatile, mobile, earth shaking, compatible rig. of course this is just my opinion.

as i type this, it reminds me of a pieced together fender jaguar bass with all the possible combinations of different cabs and wiring, hahah. funny enough, i prefer quite the simple set up.
