Custom jobs

Have you ever had a custom build and the build time was shorter than expected and you didn't have all the money saved up yet? Did the builder allow you time to pay for it even after he was finished? Were they upset or did they understand? And I mean like 2 weeks to a month, not like 5 or 6 months down the road.

This is why you made a down-payment. There are many instances where the down payment is made and then the customer backs out of the deal after work is already started. The builder is able to complete the job at no out-of-pocket cost and then sell the bass.

Since you still intend to buy it, I'm sure he will reasonably hold it for you. As a sign of faith, you may want to see if he'll accept the payment in two installments, just so that he doesn't sell it in the meantime.
