Hey guys was wondering if anyone had replaced the pick guard on the blacktop jazz and if so where they purchased the custom one. If anyone wouldn't care to show some pictures with the custom guard that would be great as well. Thanks in advance for the help.

Custom pick guard for Blacktop jazz

That's a tall order. The only ones readily available are probably OEM from Fender. Your best bet is sending the guard in to one of the many places that specialize in custom guard reproduction.

Thanks, didn't know if anyone had used anyone specific for a custom job so thought Id check, all 3 of those places seem to have nice options. Appreciate you taking the time to answer

I "customized" my black/white/black with some judicious use of a Sharpie permanent marker.
It turned out great and the "price" couldn't be beat, so I did it a second time on my parts bass that incorporated a Blacktop Jazz guard. Turns out the dark blue Sharpie creates a blue/purple scarab-effect depending on the quality of the light and the angle it hits at.
