Custom Telecaster bass Project

So I was thinking about starting a new telecaster style bass. I was thinking of purchasing a telecaster body off of GuitarFetish, and adding a SX short scale bass neck from Rondo music. The pickup config. would probably be a lipstick pup and a single coil p bass pickup to mimic an actual tele. Would this be a somewhat decent project to make, or would it make more sense to just buy one of those 51 p bass look alikes?

Tele body:

Bass neck:

The scale length might cause problems - if you put the bridge where it would be on the Tele guitar, your intonation is gonna be screwed up.

You could mount the bridge lower, but I'm not sure if there's space, and you won't be able to make it string through.

If you are referring to the telenbacker all I can say is Me Gusta. I wonder if they ship to the U.S.

I think it's about $85 for shipping to the U.S or Canada. Seems like a steal of a bass under $500

Thinking I'd like to get the SS neck with the tuners from them but out of stock on the neck.

That blue retrovibe is so tempting to me. Want to try the new affinity jag h in case might want a med scale. Have also thought about building own using retrovibes parts they sell so I can pick any color tele at local store or find a cheap used one.
