I made a custom wood case for my class D head. Cut air vents in the side. And lo and behold, I even added a handle! LOL

Your cabinet is nice ! What wood is that ? I made a wood case for a GK amp and painted it blue. Next one will have more vents.
Which weighs more, the cabinet or the head?![]()
This post is ages old but I’m thinking of doing the same with my amp (Fender Rumble 800Hd.) Any issues to report about the enclosure idea? I was also planning on cutting vent openings but wanted to get a “professional opinion” before I start hacking and chopping. Cheers!I made a custom wood case for my class D head. My goal was almost to build a “shelf” for the amp to sit into and then also have a faux grille front either above or below. Like a two level amp shelf. Not a problem as long as you respect the vents.
Also, when mounting be absolutely positive that no screws extend into the cabinet past where they are now.
That’s 1000% my same opinion. I’ll let you know how the project goes! Shouldn’t be too long, although I’m going to try and tolex the enclosure.Neato
I have wanted to do that. Probably will eventually. I love my amps, but I do miss looking at a head enclosure that matches the size and look of the cab.
