Cut D string too short

...not even sure how that happened. It ended up just long enough to touch the peg... The old d-string sounds completely different in contrast to the new strings. Good thing is that these are just regular rotosound so not a huge loss I guess, I'll keep the 3 good strings for spares, and put a new set on. Funny thing though, the only string that ever broke on me was D string, so that is not a particularly useful spares set. Oh well just venting, not looking for any advises.

FretNation can sell single strings for most any brand. You won’t be stuck with an incomplete set.

Yes, bridge material does make some difference if you are really listening in isolation. Obviously in a mix, this is become unnoticeable.
