Czech made instruments (Spector, AV, who else?)

I had a BaCH, and the distributor's opinion was that the bodies and necks are made in China, the hardware in Korea, but assembly, finishing and setup are done in the Czech Republic.

For some of their models that is correct. But not all of them.
I've worked with BaCH on several projects, such as the Non Reverse Thunderbird, Fenderbird, EB-2 (both short scale and long scale) and a short scale Telecaster bass.
Co-owner Roman is a super friendly guy.
Communication isn't always easy, because of the language barrier. Some of the details on above mentioned models got lost in translation. But overall they're pretty darn good instruments. Not just for the money!

Having said that, most of the BaCH basses were modified by their owners. The Artec pickups were often replaced with higher end pickups. And the potentiometers were also often replaced by CTS or similar.

Here are a few BaCHs from my personal collection. All of them have been modified (except the short scale telecaster bass).

Okay. I do wish it had been "Northern", but the ones I've seen had "Northen" on the TRC. A quibble for future researchers, perhaps.

You're right. "Northen" is the correct designation.

I simply cannot stop jamming on my ReBop. But that made me curious. What other bass guitars are made in the Czech Republic? I feel like because that country has such a rich and incredible heritage for instrument making (Janek Juzek among others), there has to be some amazing stuff being created there that I know nothing about.

I've played US made instruments (e.g. my old Guitar Factory 6-string), European instruments (German Warwick, my Czechtor Rebop), various Asian-made instruments (Ibanez, ESP/LTD, Zon Standard), and something about the European instruments just vibed with me like nothing else... particularly my ReBop.

So, yeah, I'm just simply curious about other cool basses coming out of the Czech Republic.

Dean has been mentioned a few times for the early Jeff Berlin signature models and the Edge European Select models made from 1997 to 2001.

I simply cannot stop jamming on my ReBop. But that made me curious. What other bass guitars are made in the Czech Republic? I feel like because that country has such a rich and incredible heritage for instrument making (Janek Juzek among others), there has to be some amazing stuff being created there that I know nothing about.

I posted the one I have now on the first page. Look what happened during April 2020 quarantine. I didn't like the red and didn't care for that wide pickup spacing, and while at it, decided to rewire the pickups for optional series/parallel operation. Love the result.

That tele bass looks a lot like one AIO guitars makes, granted not made in Czech Republic

Have look on Vlček basses. Beautiful hand made instruments, more or less the same price category as AV basses.
