D&R strings on Jazz bass

Hi y’all : quick question. I would like to put a set of DR neon strings on my Fender Jazz , however I noticed that the heavy part of the string winding will wrap a full turn around the machine head. Is this a problem on the Jazz? Any tuning or string breakage issues? The D&R neons are long scale 45-105. On other basses I own the heavy wrap goes to but not around the tuning post. Any advice? Thank you very much.

DR Neons are roundwound on a round core, and as such they're relatively flexible. One full wrap around the E post on a Fender Jazz shouldn't be a problem. I've used DR strings on my two Fenders in the past with no issue.
