D-ROCK Triclops 3-string

But, but... is "Orange Comic Sans guy" now "Green Comic Sans guy"? jk :P

So what happened to the body?

The body is still needing to be worked on. I have the front and back sanded, now it is just the edges that still have paint. Problem with that stupid poly is there are 4 layers on the body and it takes forever to strip. I will see if my senior minister has a sander to take the edges off.

I have also been considering using a different body. Back at my parents house in the old closet is a jazz bass body that I refinished years ago. I thought about maybe using that instead of the p body. It has a humbuckler rout already in it that I want for the pickup. We shall see what happens. I painted the jazz body green and black, so I might be doing the same to the neck.

Yes, it would appear I am not green comic sans guy. Everybody was complaining they couldn't read my text. So I even went to red. People are just annoyed with anything different.

People are poking fun at your text because it's big and ugly and bright and loud. No offence. Just use standard black text. It looks cleaner and is easier on the eyes. Other people are colorblind, and that just makes your text more difficult to read.

It's like if your lady wore clown makeup all the time.

Jeez, give the guy a break!

Delta_P: You can use any dang font and color you want. I guess it's a shame that you won't get advice about your odd project (which I like) from all the red/green color-blind members here.

Yeah, seems so. Though colorblind people can still see the text, just can't differentiate between red and green. Meh. They color and font and size are all options, why not use them?

Maybe I will go back to orange.

Haven't touched this thread in a long while. Maybe some people are subbed. So here is was happened to the body. Neck is still unused as I need to contact my parents up in Oregon to see if they will send down a jazz body I have stored there that I forgot to bring with me when I moved.

Anyway...

Updated pictures of my franken p-bass. Refinished Squier Affinity body with MIM Fender jazz neck. Seymore Duncan Performer pickups, high mass bridge, Fender flatwound strings and Grolsch straplocks.

Plan on adding a MM humbuckler pickup to the bridge with stacked volume/tone pots for both pickups.

I didn't read through the whole thread... but... what happened to the 3-string????

Sorry to my faithful followers of the 3 string project.

It is still in the works. Neck is just hanging out in my closet. A while back I posted about getting a jazz body from back at my parents. I am still looking into that. Then it should be fairly easy with putting a humbucker pickup in and control plate with pots. Also need to pick up the single string bridge pieces.
