This is incredibly good sounding L-2500 tone!
I like your Peavey a lot more than the G&L. The Peavey sounds modern yet smooth/rich . It's not so hot sounding like I find most G&Ls.
That's exactly why I picked up a tribute L2500 several years back. It can also get nice and thumpy in passive mode. Lots of tone variety if you're patient and find all the good combos of switches and knobs.modern, humbucker, mid heavy tone.
