Da Maestro: G&L L-2500

G&L had a really good march sale on their website, as I always say, they are on my list of considerations when looking for an all around bass, Yamaha, ESP and G&L L2000/2500 are all on the list... Can't tell you what I feel without trying but wish I could find more G&L!

modern, humbucker, mid heavy tone.
That's exactly why I picked up a tribute L2500 several years back. It can also get nice and thumpy in passive mode. Lots of tone variety if you're patient and find all the good combos of switches and knobs.
