DADF# Tuning

It will 'work' but the dropped D will be much looser than the other strings, which will be tight. Better to use custom gauges, or use a 4 string EADG set and replace the E with a single string for D with gauge raised by .010.

Would you recommend the La Bella Electric Bass Guitar "Original 1954" Flatwound .52 - .110 4 string set will work for the DADF# tuning? Also any advice on playing with this tuning
That's a very high tension set. You'll be fine dropping down to D and F#. Be advised that this a bridge through or top load only string set. No body through stringing. Plus you'll need a completely new set up unless you are already using this set.
