Daft Punk "Get Lucky" Bassist?

Late to the party here, but I have also thought it was Nathan on this track, after all he is credited. However, a very trusted musician friend said that he hung out with James Genus in NY and James told him he in fact played on Get Lucky, and they paid him a boat load of money. If it's true, it prob involved some politics and hush money lolll. Would NOT be the first time. Also, I've always thought the playing didn't sound like Nathan or his Yamaha. Def sounds like a Fodera to me.

Although you're correct in this case that it was Nathan East (and John Robinson on drums), Wikipedia confirming something is a funny statement.

I should know, my dad used to sell wikipedias door to door.

It was actually Omar on drums on that track.

There was some award show — Grammys maybe? — where Daft Punk performed “Get Lucky” live, with Nile Rogers, Nathan East, Omar Hakim, Stevie Wonder (!), Pharrell Williams, and I think maybe a second guitarist.

Makes you wonder what the Daft Punk guys were even doing up there.

I can't tell you who is on the studio track. I wouldn't be surprised if James Genus and Nathan East were both asked to lay down tracks.

Nathan's tone here sounds pretty close to me. Playing seems uncharacteristically sloppy and gratuitous; but it's a play along.

Could be both both players. The bass track was obviously chopped up and reassembled (typical with these kinds of productions). Maybe a bit of Genus for mixed in with the East, or vice-versa.
