I'll let you know. Most times, a music store will mark it up to double what they put in it. That way, they have a lot of room to negotiate. I would have loved to intervene there, and buy it directly from the guy for that price!
The guy let me look at the transaction screen, and apparently, they gave him $975 for it, and it had a price tag of $1499. At least that's what he showed me. I have to be honest and tell you that I talked him down to $1295, and I had a $100 store credit, so it came to $1195.
Woodchuck, congrats on your bass. I finally looked at the El Pus homepage and your video is slammin'! I was glad to see that Guitarcenter did not completly ream the original owner of that Metro.
Thanks. I just found out that the guy that had to sell it goes to GC about once a week to see if his gear is still there. He had to sell alot of stuff, some of which included an Eden stack and a '76 P bass. Man, I don't think that I could, or would do that! :scowl:
