Dan Amrstrong Bass Club

I wanted to start a club since all other basses have clubs.
This bass seems pretty unique and kind of rare as to who has them and uses them.

Please lucite players rejoice to discuss the awesomeness and unique of what is the Dan Armstrong lucite bass.

I had one on loan for a few years in the mid 80's.
I'm not really a fan of short scale basses so that was a little bit of a learning curve between playing Fenders.
I recall liking the tone and was always surprised that with a smaller body and neck, it was as heavy as it was.
Now that I've thought about all this again, I'd like to try one and maybe buy. For me, it's a $1,500 cool looking bass but not a #1.

Heavy is an understatement. I picked one up at a pawn shop a couple of years back for $80. I don't think they knew what they had. Serial # on the side of the neck is legit from the 70's. I am a fan of short scales, but I don't play the DA, way too heavy. I do love to look at it though, I have it on a stand on top of my SVT 810 cabinet.

Did you know we might still only be the two.
No love for this instrument. I love playing mine.
Although I fight with it for great bass tone, I can always dial it into something that inspires.

I had a DA guitar in the early seventies. It was fun to play, but I preferred my SG, and ended up trading the DA for a Strat. The DA weighed about the same as a friend's Les Paul, so heavy, but not extremely so. I used to tape photos to the back.
