Dan Lakin is Auctioning his prototype Lakland

Dan is letting go of the prototype that Hugh McFarland built. Dan gives several reasons why he's letting go of it on his facebook page, but I'm personally sad to see that he's choosing to let his baby go......

His site has been down for a while and it doesn't look like there are any new ones available from online dealers. Things aren't looking great for D Lakin basses.

I also would be interested to see a link to the auction or sale info.

Yeah, his facebook's been pretty dead too. There was some discussion of this here...
What happened to D Lakin?
...but not a whole lot of other info.

Hopefully he lands on his feet whatever he decides to do next. He's done alot for the bass community -especially here in Chicago- over the years.
