Danelectro binding tape question.

I am interested in buying one of the Dead On longhorn reissues but I don't like the binding tape on it. Is the body fully painted underneath the tape? I'd rather deal with the tape then have a big border of unpainted bass.

I don't have the dead-on and I don't know if this helps but I took the thin plastic tape of of my first generation dano RI after it started to take itself off and it was fully finished under the tape.

There is also the "Pro" version which has high gloss chrome hardware, high gloss finish and no plastic tape.
