Dark Star Pickup

Fred Hammon (who designed them) still personally winds and hand-assembles each DS, I believe (Email him and check if you want to know for certain). Because they are quite work-intensive and not produced in mass quantities, I think Fred is keeping the price where you saw it. As the owner of 2 DS'd basses, I can tell you they are worth it and I don't blame Fred a bit.

I definitely don't doubt their quality, and it makes sense that they would be expensive if they are hand wound. I was just asking, because "list" usually means "random price that actual retailers never sell at." :) It actually makes more sense that he is selling it at the list. Thanks guys.
