Is the only place to buy a Dark Star Pickup direct for the $200 list price? I've been searching, but that's all I see, and I just wanted to make sure that there isn't a way to find them a little cheaper. Thanks.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Behringer "Dimstar" pickup for $12!
And from Behringer ... that would be about right ...
... Man are they GREAT pickups ... I have one in a Lakland, and a second one on the way ... in a custom build LeCompte VB-4

I definitely don't doubt their quality, and it makes sense that they would be expensive if they are hand wound. I was just asking, because "list" usually means "random price that actual retailers never sell at."It actually makes more sense that he is selling it at the list. Thanks guys.

Fred's a great guy...I have two Dark Star'd basses, and he was easy to deal with and very helpful both times!
...but sometimes a bit slow on the delivery.![]()
