I got ahold of a B3k looking for an overdrive that is not raspy or brittle. I really like BDDI but they get too harsh when turning up the gain. I read a lot of great words about these darkglass pedals so I bought one used. I've played with it alot and I am not impressed. I do think it is a great pedal, it does sound good and built really tough, still its not what I hoped for. I guess they'll never find a way to get SVT overdrive in a pedal. So bought used and now it sits. Back to my bddi which is where I should've stayed. I wonder about the other sansamp pedals now.

OP, isn't that what the VT Bass pedal is for?
Also, I would think you might have more luck getting that tone out of a B7K rather than the B3K, given the extra tone-shaping from the 4-band EQ.
I've never had the chance to check out the Vt myself and I would imagine that at $400 it would be better. Its really the flavor of od that I don't like. That and the no battery thing is stupid as well

And what kind of rig are you playing through?

SFT is not for you then. It pretty much has to have 18 volts to sound best. Personally I wish all pedals would ditch the battery. Waste of space, very inconvenient, and it's bad for the environment.
