Darkglass Element for practice?

It’s a pricy little box, but I don’t see anything else like it. The fact that I could run a playlist on my phone directly into it by Bluetooth and practice along with it is very attractive.

Not sure I need a cabsim, although maybe I should run it to FOH when we start gigging again. But I’m thinking it will maybe not sound so much like a headphone amp in the headphones.

I recently acquired one, and am happy to say that it was one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time. The cabsims sound great (I use the factory-installed #3 for my StingRay5 and a 1x15 sim for my P-Bass) and being able to instantly hook it up to my phone and play along with stuff from my band’s Google Drive folder, YouTube videos or anything else I feel like is a Godsend.
It is a bit pricey, but I haven’t regretted it for an instant.

It’s also good for connecting bluetooth to your phone and using a metronome phone app over the headphones for practice.

I’m really interesting in this product for my practice.
Being my first pedal and have 0 knowledge about how the whole effects thing works, I don’t understand if I can connect directly the bass to the pedal and practice, obviously with headphones.

the idea was element->bass->headphone

Yes, you can plug your bass directly into the element and use it as a headphone amp. You also have to plug in a power supply and headphones. There is an aux input, and you can stream music to it with Bluetooth.

thanks for your reply. The power supply is in the box? I didn’t see it the manual but maybe I’m wrong.

I ordered one new from Prymaxe on Reverb. When it showed up, it was an open box unit. I contacted them, thinking they might offer a discount, or just exchange it. They seemed to only want to do a return/refund, so I just ordered a new one from Sweetwater.

I am so glad I got the new one. There was definitely something wrong with the one from Prymaxe. I had to turn it all the way up to get any sort of decent level. Not so with the new one!

This is a very useful machine.

Has anyone tried using the MESA Engineering Two Notes IR Cabinets on their Element? I'm interested in trying these IRs out to help guide a future purchase of Mesa products.
