Darkglass Harmonic Booster vs B3K: mid notch/scoop

Can anyone tell me how the mid notch/scoop compare between the DG Harmonic Booster and B3K?

i actually really like the mid notch on the on the B3K, both for "clean" sounds and for clearing out some of the "mud" from boomy dirt pedals that are placed before the B3K. that said, but i'm not really using the drive on the B3K, so i'm wondering if i could achieve the same with the Harmonic Booster, but with even a little more EQ control.

bonus question: is anyone use the Harmonic Booster (+DI) for going direct?

still looking for an answer to this question:
does anyone know if the DG Harmonic Booster has a ~300Hz notch similar to the B3k when the character knob on the HB is turned CW?

I don't have the official answer, but I'm a huge fan of the B7K and also own the HB2. To my ears, the HB Character does capture the B7K mid notch. Of course that notch is variable on the HB2, with Character fully counterclockwise being flat (no notch), and fully clockwise being max notch. Seems to me that max Character on the HB2 might have more notch than B7K... I usually don't max out Character. That said, I haven't done any kind of A/B testing; I'm just going on feel (so to speak) based on using B7K so often over the past 6 years or so.

I realize this is an older thread but I did a quick A/B with the Harmonic Booster and the B3k. You van get a similar tone profile with the character up just past noon and a slight cut to the mids around 10 oclock. I also added a bit of treble and needed to cut some bass to get close. The B35 still sounds kinda different but the HB has way more EQ control. I'm using it in front of a Darkglass VMT to push it into B3k territory (but with more mids) Sounds Great!

I did something similar. I used the VMT with a demonFx version of the Harmonic Booster and although I didn't cut low mids, I used the character knob, and boosted a bit of very high mids to get a similar effect.
All the nice warmth of the VMT and some of the cut of the B-series. Sounded fantastic.
