Darkglass Hyper Luminal and Harley Benton powered pedal board

Hi! I'm struggling with a somewhat strange problem. I have bought a Harley Benton Spaceship Power 60 powered pedal board, which I really like. It comes with a power supply integrated into the pedal board, with the following specs:

• 11 Isolated outputs to eliminate hum and noise: 4x 9 V / 250 mA, 3x 9 V / 500 mA and 4x 9/12/18 V - 500 mA
• Non-isolated connections: 1x 9 V / 3 A for powering effects with high current consumption ( e.g. multi-effect pedals), 1x 24 V / 2 A, 1 x USB-A for connecting or charging tablets and smartphones, 1x USB-C, 24 V output connection for additional power supplies
• Total output: 45 W

The only pedals I really use are my HX effects and my Darkglass Hyper Luminal (HL) compressor. The latter is where the issue comes in: if I just power on the board with the HL plugged in, it makes horrible crackling noises through my amp when I play. However, if I power on the board first, and then plug in the power supply wire to the HL, everything runs smoothly.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

(The HX effects runs fine, and it does not matter whether this is on or off or not there at all for this to happen to the HL.)

I don't have that issue, but I will say that my HX stomp XL doesn't like the spaceship power. It ran fine for a month or so, but now it powers up, but doesn't pass signal. It won't even show input when the tuner is used. That's while using the supplied combiner cable, and two 500ma outlets.

I can't say for sure this is the issue you are having with the HL, but some power supplies ramp up power when first connected and this can be problematic with some digital circuits which may get stuck in some error state as a result. That sounds consistent with what you are experiencing (the Hyper Luminal is a digitally-controlled analog pedal with pretty high current requirements).

I can't say for sure this is the issue you are having with the HL, but some power supplies ramp up power when first connected and this can be problematic with some digital circuits which may get stuck in some error state as a result. Yes, it sounds like this might be the case... I guess the solution to this would be a power cable for this pedal with a tiny switch, so that I can turn it on after the board PSU has warmed itself up. Do you know of any such thing?
