Darkglass Hyper Luminal pedal playing up...

I bought a Darkglass Hyper Luminal pedal just before Christmas. It was working at practice on Tuesday night, but when I went to do some practice today it was playing up when I plugged into my board. At first no signal was getting through, eventually signal came through but the footswitch, ratio and mode buttons all are not working. No gain reduction is showing up. The output knob is working. Anyone else had any similar trouble? I know DG have great customer service and I have reached out to them through their social media page and will drop them an email later with the video I took of it. When I remove the pedal from my board all other pedals are functioning normally.

Current draw issues can have odd symptoms. And this is a pretty thirsty pedal.

First thing you'll want to try is running it solo on a known sufficiently juiced power supply, and if it's still got those issues, you know the problem is under the hood. If it's suddenly working again, that points toward it not getting something it needs from your board's power. (or it could be an intermittent pedal problem but you can test that further by moving it back and forth between the board and the solo power supply and seeing if a pattern emerges)

My pedal up and quit on me except loud abrupt pop through my amp and shut it off. Tried again later isolated with same results. I have entered three support requests for rma and have had no response contact at all! Very displeased with support. Non existent customer support.

Sorry to hear that LanMusicMan, DG have been quite helpful to me. Maybe flick Doug from @Darkglass a message here on Talkbass and I'm sure he will try to assist. I loved the pedal before it played up and can't wait to have it back up and running on my board...

Apologies for necroing this thread but I'd thought it's better than creating a new one. I recently purchased the darkglass hyper luminal compressor pedal. It worked once absolutely fine. The next day plugged it in nothing. I've tried different cables etc it's definitely the pedal. This is the first darkglass pedal I've ever used and I bought it because they're so highly recommended on here and to be quite honest I'm very disappointed. Only posting this here to make others aware before purchasing. Apologies if I sound like a dick but this is the truth.

Everyone here should already be aware that sometimes pedals fail. You'll find that another reason Darkglass is recommended is they have great customer service when something goes wrong. But luckily enough, a failure like yours can quickly be handled by the retailer. Send it back, do something fun to cure that disappointment, and you'll have a working pedal soon enough.

Yes you're quite right. I by no means to intend to turn this into a darkglass bashing thread. Clearly the vast majority of their customers are very satisfied with their products. I only posted this here to I admit vent a tiny bit and to also make poeple aware of my experience so they can make up their own minds wether to purchase one or not.

I’m not sure what the issue is either, mine was just on my board an had always fired up an worked just fine, I haven’t been playing since my band took a little fall break an then I plug in my board all my pedal fire up but the Luminal. I tried diff cords I have a voodo power supply an I tried diff spots all that an nada I hope i can be fixed cause I’ve never had a pedal just not work like that… ever maybe I’m lucky but like even the pedals I treated horribly never just didn’t have a reason to turn on. What would cause it to just now power up at all? If the cables an all are okay? It seemed like for a sec like the input where the Qtr inch goes in on the power supply side effected it. Ugh man my fav pedal!!!
