Dave Schools W I D E spread tone

I've been digging back into some Widespread Panic, and the tone Dave Schools gets on 'Til The Medicine Takes is just amazing. It's big, it's powerful, it's punchy, it's clean, it's crisp, it's just awesome.
"Surprise Valley," for example:


How does one get a tone like that? Aside from being Dave Schools + Modulus 6-string + pick?
 
That was, IMO, a pretty lame Rig Rundown on Dave's gear. The basses? "This one's a Modulus, and his backup is an Alembic. I don't know much about them..." His amplification - how many watts? "Um, that's a good question... too many..."
Wow.
