So....TL;DR = my Megadeth tribute played with David Ellefson
David was doing a book signing for More Life With Deth, his new book. Appearing at a book store in La Jolla on Sunday. A few weeks ago, an employee at the store messaged the band asking if we'd be willing to help publicize. Of course, we were. Couple days after that, she messaged again saying the manager of the store wondered if we'd be interested in playing at the event? Our drummer has a Roland V kit, so we said, "Why not?" We were put in contact with Ellefson's business partner, Thom Hazaert, and arranged for them to sit in and play a couple songs (well, whatever they wanted, really). Turned out great. Ellefson is a really nice guy, and played Dawn Patrol (I played drums with him on that), Hook In Mouth, Symphony Of Destruction and Peace Sells.
Good day for a tribute band when the "real" guy sits in, no?
