I just felt that he should have is own thread. He really is one of the greatest bassists out there. His tone, choice of lines and overall vibe has been such a big influence on a lot of cats that have threads already on here. So, that said, lets discuss. Anyone agree with me here? Whats your favorite Sims record and why. Sratch Acid, Jesus Lizard and even his solo project unFact are all worthy of conversation and praise. And, has anyone ever seen a Memphis Jazz for sale? Goat. Saw them twice on that tour. Doodberry is brilliant. Played pool with Yow, nice guy. Two of the best shows I've ever attended.

I have a ton of Jesus Lizard 7" singles from long ago. I also think Goat is probably their best. I saw them open for Sonic Youth on the Washing Machine tour. They were great live.

I caught them on the reunion tour. It was amazing. David is a big influence on me. Goat is probably my favorite too. His tone rips on that album!

Besides being great recordings, his bass tone is gnarly-riffic.

I saw JL on tour for Goat and DWS had the same gnarly-ass, grinding jbass sound live as he did on the record. One of the best shows I ever saw.

Not sure how I missed this. A year and a half later,but likewise. You are also my favorite TB'r we dig the same records for sure.
A two bass band would be awesome.I'd love to do that. I have a ton of riffs saved on a Jamman solo for that project, whenever it comes.
I will be doing alot of touring in 2014. I will be in touch if I'm close to your area of MO.
