The news from Chris Cardone, the original owner, is that it was sold to someone in Italy, so i assume Davie504 owns it now.
It doesn't have a .266 the lowest course is F#0 F#1 F#2 so likely around .174.

I'm sorry, but that just looks awkward as hell, more a "proof of concept" or Luthiers demo piece than a playable instrument. Imagine trying to keep that in tune.

If you watch Cardones video introducing this bass at NAMM, that's exactly what this is, a concept piece designed to show off the range of Kalium strings. Bonus is that it actually plays in tune. Kudos to Pratt.
But yeah, it was never supposed to be a bass designed for "bassists"
It definitely does look playable, like an 8-string in courses of three!

homey is playing it in this video. That means its playable. Maybe not in the way most bass players want to play bass, but empirically, yes, it is.

I've been impressed with Davie504's playing.
Sometimes I wonder if he isn't speeding up his recordings somehow because the notes he plays are so smooth and well-articulated even when he's going a million miles per hour.

I have an un-Krappy Kevin Siebold 10 string tapper (call it "Teflon", 'cause it's non-Stick hehe), still need to get my head wrapped around it though, definitely a different musical undertaking from anything else I've tried to play.
I think that is genuine, but keep in mind that he his studying (or already finished, I don't know) sound engineering, so the videos have a lot of Pro Tools.
I love his videos, I am not bad mouthing him. He is an awesome player.
My Krappy Frozenwaterperson (totally not an Iceman) two string is the most fun instrument I've ever played.
And more challenging than you might expect, in terms of playing normal songs on it, hitting all the notes you would on a 4.
