I had heard in a Peter Tork interview that he had actually played bass at some point with the Monkees. This clip seems to confirm it. Obviously, some of the songs were prerecorded but you can tell the live ones.

Davy used to fill in on bass when Peter switched to keys, guitar or banjo. The Glen Campbell piece was clearly after Peter had left and Davy was on bass full time, such as it was.

Am I the only one who loves his playing on "Salesman" from the Glen Campbell show?

It's so cool the way Peter Tork was describing how easy it was to teach Davey and Micky to learn new instruments do to their already having musical aptitude.
