Double Bass Day Job

So, it looks like after almost 2 1/2 years of being 90-100% full time as a jazz musician, I'm day job bound again. Bitter-sweet. I actually mostly feel all right about. I was really busy without one and well, you guys know that doesn't add up. I tried a few small business things that gave me freedom, but in the end, no income.

My annoying family keeps eating and wanting a place to live and stuff, so it's going to be nice to not worry about those things again and I've worked steadily on the bass while holding a job in the past, I'll do it again.

Maybe, I'll actually feel free to turn down some of those gigs and entanglements that I really shouldn't be in anyway.

Geez Troy the Canucks aren't playing that bad... no need to take it out on the family. :D

I second the notion of having more freedom in a musical sense from not having to take every gig. Hopefully with the right job you won't use too much of your energy and can actually come to the music from different creative place.

Good Luck and hopefully the next time I'm up your way, you and the wife won't have a pesky birth to get in the way of that adult beverage I owe you. ;)
