I've had an old Englehardt which was damaged in a flood sometime ago and I'm finally getting around to parting it for a EUB. I want to keep the classic look and this helps me from having to craft everything by hand.
Working with my drummer who just happens to be a master carpenter.
Photos and step by step also posted on the blog. The idea is to keep the neck and fingerboard and mold them into a new maple body. We picked up the 3' block of soft maple for the frame out, just ran out of steam after 4-5 hours. Here is what I have so far. I think with a new stain and some good design on the body the bass will convert to an EUB nicely.
