I recently bought a new pack of strings, and when i put them on all of the strings sounded great except for the D string. It sounded just dead, worse than the old strings i just removed. At first i thought my action might be too low, but raising it didn`t fix the sound. Found some threads about the same issue and they pointed out that the string might get twisted while im setting it up, so i got my dad to hold the end and make sure that i don`t twist it while tightening the string, but that didn`t fix it either.
I have a gig tomorrow, and for the time being i put the old D string back on.
The strings in question are Warwick, stainless steel roundwounds (first time buying Warwick, they were the only ones my local shop had in stock).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
