Dead notes..

I just got a new Ibanez Sr300e 2 weeks ago..I only found out today I have 2 deadish notes on the 6th and 7th frets of the g string..I tried lowering and hiring the action but it doesn't make a difference.. I also changed the string to no avail..I done some research and it seems it's just part of how the wood is etc..I like to play long notes etc..I'm wondering will I return it and get a replacement..

I would if I were you. People have added weights to headstock that while cleared their original dead spots just to have them move another place. Sometimes it fixes it but if you have the ability to get it replaced I would.

This is a common issue. The weight adjustment needed at the headstock is not large, and could be as simple as playing with a clip on tuner attached. Or a tuner change. Or washers under the tuner bushings. The common fix is a "fatfinger," basically a small weight clamped to the headstock.
