Yeah I thought about that too, the thing is the guy who owns it won't budge off the price and he's saying he's getting offers over asking. It's a cool bass but I'm not going to pay over 900 with tax for it.
i was interested in one of those a few years ago, but was turned off by one particular common problem. the strings didn't line up with the neck. one was so bad that the G string was barely over the frets near the body. look for straight-on photos to be sure you're getting one with proper alignment.

It has a return option if it's not up to standards. I was confused by 'the new green' color they call that one Pale Blue. Its really pretty too, but that gold just called my name
yeah the gold really is the best colour for that bass. I just saw the pale blue in person yesterday and I'd still call it green. Hope yours meets your expectations, they are very cool instruments and Epiphone stuff is normally very nice.
Never had an issue with the same 3 point bridge in my SG
Saw Jack playing in Hit Tuna this past December at Penn’s Peak. He played a red one and the Pale Blue One.

Yeah it seem like a love or hate situation with these bridges. I saw A LOT of hate so I just ordered one. I may play it for a bit and see if I need to swap it out before I install it.
Enjoy your bass! I don't get how a used gold one is more expensive than the new one of the same color. Don't tell me that the 2002 one is "vintage" cuz then I'm dead.

The 02's were made in Korea not China so some people think they are worth more. From my deep dive into the Google machine I haven't seen any difference. Plus some people think that there are supply issues and they can get more. Someone will buy his bass, I offered him basically what the bass was worth plus full price for the case since they are back ordered until September. He passed and countered with100 more than my offer.
New Gold. re..hipshot bridge...careful not to break the bridge ground. i think in the new ones its in the front center post. You still will want a stub post to contact the bridge to keep the ground.
