Deal or No Deal

So this is my dilemma. I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a Epiphone Jack Cassady, I have found two that interest me used and a new one. So one is a 2021 in Black 'mint' condition with Epiphone hard case for 700.00. The other is a 2002 in Gold (the color I really really want) with a hard case for 850.00 also 'mint' (keeping in mind that mint is in the eye of the beholder). Or I can buy a brand new one in Gold for 799.00. The logical side of me says buy the black one...it's the best 'deal'. But I fell in love with the Gold. I can't decide....

Ordered and Hipshot bridge...everything I've read the 3 bolt bridge on these blows.

The three point bridge isn’t bad. I kept it on my Gibson LP DC. It set up fine and hasn’t been an issue. I changed out both my Epiphone bridges for Hipshots though. Either way, congrats on the cool new bass!

I love those gold ones; and price is always a factor for me (i.e. I'm cheap LOL)... : )

Ooops, just reread the post LOL
Thats what got me. I was YouTube surfing and a vid with Jack playing a gold one popped up....I was ooooohhhhh I likey....so I dove into demos and loved the sound. The way things are trending my kids are going to inherit 10 bucks and a bunch of basses LOL

My Epiphone Jack Casady, Allen Woody Rumblekat and EB-0 all sport Hipshot Supertone bridges.

I bought a pack of little round cork stick-on pads for use on the under side of the front corners of the Hipshot bridge to accommodate the arched tops of the JC and AW.

Edit:

I also removed and glued in the OEM bridge mounting ferrules using a thin stripe of superglue along the length of the outside of the ferrule so they won't pull up....again.
