Dean bass

Anyone have the Dean Hillsboro Jr, or the Edge 09? As always I know it comes down to personal preference, but just seeking a little feedback on how they are, if anyone has one. Very much contemplating adding those 2, to my small Squier collection.

I own three Edge 09M basses that were part of a modding experiment I have yet to get around to doing. All different years and all different countries of manufacture. Although I own several Hillsboro models including a USA model I have never played a Hillsboro Jr. which has a smaller body and Shorter neck than a regular size Hillsboro...it's actually 3/4 size. This is not the same as a Hillsboro 09. The Edge 09 and Hillsboro 09 are both full body size and both 34" scale.
The Hillsboro Jr. is 3/4 size and a 30" scale.
@TheBassmaster27 has an Edge 09 in lefty version and has modified his.
I love the neck on the Edge and Hillsboro series basses. Narrow and thin and almost always a thin satin finish on the back of the neck to make it a 'fast' neck. If you're more into a wider thicker neck like on a P style bass you might not like the feel of this neck.

My Edge 09 is still my favorite bass. It doesn't get as much play these days as I've been playing my 5 string Ibanez, but it's still a pretty good bass. Depending on what you want to use it for that is. If you're looking for a cheap beater or a starter instrument, then the Edge 09 is great. However, if you want to gig it or use it for other "heavy use applications", you would probably have to replace some hardware on the instrument. At least the tuners, as they wear out fast. There are a ton of used Edge 09 basses out there. I would try to find one used rather than brand new. When I bought mine new, they were 179.99 shipped. Now they're 199. Usually, you can find them from anywhere between 99-150 dollars, give or take. I replaced the bridge on mine as well, with a high mass bridge, and replaced the tone pot with a TBX circuit, to add more treble frequency.

You ever jump on one if these?
