Dean edge emg basses

I've recently saw these basses on a few online music stores and was kinda curious about it. these basses are new and they're equipped with a set of emg pick-ups. I was wondering has anyone played these basses? if so, how is it? I did like dean edge basses in the past. I've had a dean edge 5(active) and a dean edge 1(passive). personally I like active dean edge basses. my other question is what are your thoughts on these basses.

Okay. My first and currently, only bass is a Dean Edge 09...it is crap. Spend your money elsewhere. Maybe the higher end models will be better, but idk. I have a feeling if Dimebag were alive he would not have stuck with Dean...have not liked anything from there.

The dean egde 09 is more suitable for beginners, but yet again there were mixed opinion on these basses. some people like them and some people don't. I once owned a dean edge 5 5-string bass in a red finish and I thought it sounded pretty cool. I would assume the dean edge emg would sound similar to the dean edge 5, only with emg pick-ups. If I get a chance to go to a guitar center or a sam ash, I would like to try out those basses and see how they are.

I had a Dean Edge made in Korea with Passive EMG's. It was a nice player. The pups were decent, not too quiet but not too hot either. I had bought it at a pawnshop for $69.00 while my other bass at the time was getting a new nut and set-up and sold it for $100.00. These are fine basis that I would put at the level of an Ibanez 500.

I'm an Ibanez guy. I own an Ibanez sr305 and it sounded pretty cool. I also like the dean edge basses. I think of them as dean's answer to the Ibanez soundgear basses.
