Dean Markley SR2000

Has anyone played a new set of Dean Markley SR2000 strings recently? These were brilliant strings several years ago ( when they had gold colored silks at the ends). Unfortunately, when I received a new set 2 years ago they were about as different looking/feeling/sounding as could be from the older SR2000 strings. When I contacted strings.com they shared that everybody was vastly disappointed in the “new” SR2000 strings. I know Dean Markley sold their machinery to APEX so I ordered a set but they’re also nothing close to the old SR2000 sets. I was hoping that maybe whoever is currently manufacturing what’s being sold as “Dean Markley SR2000” strings has gotten their act together and is making them as they used to be. Anyone?

Not sure who makes them but Dean Markley, as a current brand, went dead last month (there was a thread here about it). They were a business that subleted production to another maker and they marketed the strings under the Dean Markley name. Apparently they were not the same as the “real” Markey strings were.
