I have a questions about a Dean Bass guitar I have.
Im actually not sure of the model #.
It is a older model, with the "Birdshead" fretboard.
It has 4 strings and 4 controls and 2 soapbar style pickups without any writing on them.
It lacks a battery compartment, so I am guessing this is a passive guitar.
Each pickup has 3 conductors, white, red, black, and a sheild.
The whites and reds are soldered and taped. The output comes between the sheild and black wires. What is the function of the red and white wires? Are they coil ends like in a Humbucker, or are they for making this into a active pickup?
My goal on this rewire is to make it like a les-paul, with 2 volumes, 2 tones, and a 3 way selector.
I know the wiring scheme, but I need to know the values for the pots and caps, and if these pickups can be converted to Active, that would be something to consider too.
