Have you tried putting a compressor in the effects loop? That way you can set it to be as wet and wild as you want, yet set the compressor so that it get's rid of the volume spike, filter peaks, and dangerous lows. It really tames but fattens you signal too!

Actually, any pedal with a volume control in the loop really helps with the qtron+.

I have the XO + version, the overload led is just an indicator. The led coming on means you actived the envelope sweep by hitting the strings.. if the led isnt engaging you dont have sweep.. also you can tame the spikes by lowering your volume on the bass a bit, on actives mostly. Also the XO has trim pots that you can manipulate to help set your drive so to speak.. might help..

If anyone is interested, I just got word from John at EHX saying that the Micro Q is exactly the same as the Mini Q, just a smaller box.

Which I can believe considering THIS is all that was inside of the definitely NOT mini Mini Q-tron:

I saw a few on Ebay in the $40-60 range. But I went ahead and bought new from MF for $82 (including shipping I think it was $91), that way if I didn't like it I still have the 45-day return policy. No power adapter but I'm 99% certain all EHX XO pedals run off of the standard 9v boss adapter and I have my Line 1 or whatever thingy powering my chain.

The XO line, in addition to making pedals smaller, is also an attempt at standardizing that, I believe. The only exception I see is the Q-tron standard and + which are still 24v.

Atleast this was what EHX told me when I asked them about using a boss-style adapter w/ my Micro POG

Off the top of my head, the bass microsynth. Not a big deal if you have a good power conditioner (consider the BBE Supa Charger, it is cheaper than the PP2+!)

Some others with issues are the Nano Clone and the Bass Blogger. You can find out here before you buy anything - but NEVER assume that ehx pedals will take a standard "boss" adapter...

Ok, got the Micro-Q. So far I am impressed. From what I remember of my Mini-Q, it sounds pretty much identical to my ears. I have some clips, but please bear in mind I have no real recording equipment; these are from my headset mic :p

Sometime this week I'm going to try and borrow my friend's portable recording interface and get some proper clips of a few things I'm working with.

'78 Ibanez Silver Series P (first part is with my VT Bass, then with the VT + Q-tron). Also please be aware that the distortion you hear is from me having the gain up too much in the recording software I was using.

Again, all distortion you hear is due to me trying to record a bass through a headset mic and having the gain up too much in the program. If I wasn't so poor I'd buy some proper equipment :p
