EDIT: welcome to TB. this is a great place of knowledge & bass pr0n. Glad you're here man
yes.
1st. stay away from the goldine stuff if you can. I've had a few customers come back w/ cracked cones rather soon.
2nd, here are my recommendations for you(having played in a deathcorething band before)
ANY of the GK heads rule. If you're looking for something cheap & versatile, go with the backline 600 - all the same features as the others, but has an added 2nd channel(distortion)
Cabs - IME, stick with a good 4x10 cab. Search our used inventory, hell give me a call if you want(PM me for info)...we've got a ton of gear out there that is usually priced real cheap in the used section.
I rock an SWR 6x10 w/ the bottom ports and that has served me real well for quite a while. On my EQ, i roll off pretty much anything under about 80hz(gets too farty/muddy for me) but the port allows for some of that OOMPH to escape and hit people in the chest.
PM me if you've got any questions, esp GC questions, as I work there & will help when I can.
Jeremy
Are you suggesting 3 seperate GK amps + effects?
