Double Bass Decent bag for DB

I recently had an accident with my bass during transport, and the result is a nice big crack in the front, to the right of the bridge and endpin. The repair will be expensive, but the bass will probably be better than before, since it was somehow bad set up. I think there was quite a big tension in the front board, and that´s the reason for the wood fatique.

Anyways....this make me think of getting a decent bag for the bass. A bag with really thick padding for good protection.
Any suggestions?

Have in mind that I´ve got a pretty big Grünert with Wienna-style headstock. I think it is an 7/8 bass: 4/4 body with 3/4 scale

mooradian.
i have a full size on my 3/4, it makes for easy on easy off and i can cinch it up when needed.
it is well made,padded, and the zipper has been used at least 1000 times (daily bagger) with no prob.
full size should fit your needs.

The Mooradian is a great bag. My favorite bags are made by Bobelock. Quinn Violins has the best prices on them. They are similar to the Cushy cases. Heavily padded with tons of handles in the right places. I have had 3 of them so far on different basses(including a large 7/8).

Mooradian is the one for me; I've had 5-6 if you count BG gigbags. I've had two Bobelock bags, and while they are really well constructed, the side handles are too low by 6-8" for me to make use of.

Heard of Vader bags? They seem nice, and pretty solid.

I, too, have a 7/8 bass and need a new bag for it. My bass bag was heavily padded (made for a weighty bag!). What I've come to love most about my bag is its backpack straps. The place I bought it no longer carries this no-name bag.

Do any Mooradian models or Bobelock models come with backpack straps?

I got one of these from Nick Lloyd with my Shen, and it has been great. It is very well padded and worn quite well. It is a great bag.

+1 for Messina. I just bought one and it fits really well. Nice snug fit with no slack, but not hard to get on. Fairly light, with handles in the right places. Check out the measurements on their site to see what size to order (or give them you own measurements for a little extra $$).

+1 i've a m deluxe. it would be nice if it was lighter, but then it wouldn't do what it does so well ... but what i really love is how wherever you reach around the beast you find a handle at your fingertips.
