That sounds good. Thank you!Scope out the used avatar cabs @guitarcenter. Several 210's for $200 or less.. also spotted a b410 for $250.. if it's in working order I'd say you'd be hard pressed to beat the price.
Hey, I saw the ad for that rig! Inland empire, right?
I remember looking up what the heck Bullfrog cabs are...
As far as cabs to buy, depends on your sound goals. I like the suggestion of keeping the current rig until you figure out what you like and don't like about it. Oh, there's a bassman 4x10 for cheeeeep close by. Let me know if you want a link for it.
It was listed in OC. I think I’m am going to hang tight with the cab it came with. Thanks for the heads up though.Hey, I saw the ad for that rig! Inland empire, right?

Some links to talkbass Bullfrog threads. I guess I find it interesting as it somewhat reminds me of Bag End 15s.
(SWR) Either a Goliath jr. 2x10" or a Son of Bertha 1x15" (second hand they should go for near-to-nothing)Picked this rig up last night on CL for 2 bills Hope I did ok. I certainly love the way it sounds. Had one a long time ago and always regretted selling it.View attachment 3551392
That might be not blown, yet, so stop doing that!Any suggestions to replace my 15” speaker in this BFI Bullfrog cabinet? I think the speaker is blown. It distorts when cranked loud?
I just play with everything at 12:00 just noticed when turn up - the low notes made a blown speaker type sound. Unfortunately I do not have anything to compare. That might be not blown, yet, so stop doing that!
First figure out if it is blown or you have unrealistic expectations. Did you turn down some bass knob a little? Do you have any other cabs similar to compare?
If it sounds fine at moderate volume that is just a case of it is what it is. You can probably get a bit more out of it with a HPF at that rate.I just play with everything at 12:00 just noticed when turn up - the low notes made a blown speaker type sound. It sounds really good at lower volumes. I know this is lame but what is a HPF?If it sounds fine at moderate volume that is just a case of it is what it is. You can probably get a bit more out of it with a HPF at that rate.

Reading now. Appreciate it. I have a lot of learning to do for an old timer. I’ve always just plugged in and played. Never took the time to learn about the technical things of gear. Wish I had.Check out my TB Wiki on the topic: High Pass and Low Pass Filters | TalkBass.com
So - I sold the Bullfrog and picked up this really nice SOB in excellent condition. So far I’m loving the sound. View attachment 3576381
