I'm thinking you are on the right track w/the slow gear... I am going to check into these
I think a slow gear clone is just too much swell. It sounds more like the kind of swell you get from the Boss CS-1.
I'm digging up an old thread of mine... I want to get a slow gear clone and am considering the Guyatone SV2... any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks
They don't just add chorus to the signal (everything I can find has a pretty heavy chorus, though). They remove the attack of the bass.
You'd need a swell pedal for that. The only one I know of is the Boss Slow Gear, and I know there are clones of it.

Thanks for the reply... that is why I was looking at the SV2 (slow volume) I want to get a slow gear clone. Any other clones I should consider? I saw the Beringer & Guyatone has a newer version... the SV5 or something like that
OMG! did you see alls those parts... I am going to give that some thought... I have to say though that I have no skills at this & I am fortunate enough to have more money then time!
What's the confidence booster? Maybe they have someone there that just builds them... Like a "competent builder"

Maybe search for a used Behringer to try it out and see if it works, and flip it for a more expensive pedal later.
I wouldn't suggest it as a first DIY project. First off, the BYOC kit is pretty pricey. Plus, maybe a bit complex to troubleshoot. I'd start with a booster or something just to hone your soldering skills, THEN tackle something a bit larger. BYOC does have the confidence booster.
General Guitar Gadgets sells cheaper kits if you want to get into DIY.
OK... so I ordered my Lazy Sprocket (SG clone) and am having it pre-built (appropriate with the name Lazy...). I contacted BYOC and asked about a bass mod... he did not feel it was necessary.
I have the feeling this and my chorus will take care of my issue... wish me luck!
