the DL4 SUCKS tone... it is amazing how much that thing takes away from your sound, even in bypass... i wish it sounded good, but it really will ruin your clean sound, and yes, the switches die.
it is really lame when you step on a pedal in front of a huge festival audience expecting one sound and getting another one which is very very inapropriate for the particular musical moment...
that said, i am also on the prowl for a great delay with tap tempo... preferably analog.

Not my experience with the DL-4. At all.
I experience a somewhat drop in overall volume (hardly audible), and otherwise the bypass isn't terrible. I've gotten several good sounding settings from it, and if used correctly, it can go from bright cutting digital repeats or warm and bassy analog repeats. I have very few complaints about this pedal.
