I really like the way they sound. Can't comment on volume/portability, but when I heard the demeter stack at NAMM I was very very impressed. Very articulate and warm sounding. Course, their tube amp might have had something to do with that :)

I had a Demeter BCS(?) 310 also. It was a few years ago and I can't remember what head I used with it. A very nice tight cab with good lows, smooth mids and highs. Nowhere near the top end sizzle or mid clarity of Epis or Bergs. Not particularly punchy but a very solid fundamental. I think there is a review I wrote on Harmony Central.

That is exactly what I meant. You can't get the "Marcus" sound out of the cab but it had a great fingerstyle sound. So if that is all you do...

i have to agree,

the 3x10 i had was a very dark sounding cab. heck, the tweeter was very very subtle to my ears, even when cranked. a very old school, vintage fat kinda sound. as for slap tones, i actually like a dark, semi sweet like slap tone. think old school disco funk / larry graham or stu zender on "alright". but this cab probably wont do marcus like tones.

i'm pretty sure BP did a review on one a few years back.

thinking back, and after hearing a ton of cabs since then, again, the demeter cab is by far one of the darker sounding 3x10's on the market.

I drove down to Columbus to try one out and I agree it is dark.

Dark sounding 3x10 is not a bad thing. I actually liked it.
I tried it outwith a Ag750, Walter Woods Ultra and Epi UL 502.

The top end sounded like an SVT and the bottom end more HI-FI. Was James after the crossover sound ? Maybe be? he achieved it. My WWoods brought out a bit more High end from the cab. The UL 502 made it sound dark with a smooth upper end ( I have a Berg rig, Ht210, Ht115 and a Epi UL1x12 x's 2 plus 2 ACME B2 cabs). The 750 sounded great James Jamerson, Old school all the way with a modern flair. Warmth and bite. Although I think I need alittle more to cut through a band.

I might be spoiled with all the gear that I have but I enjoyed it for the mostpart. I might be inclined to buy an UL310 instead for the flexibility. Anybody want to trade a couple of UL1x12's for a UL 310?

This cab would be a great cab for Reggae, Salsa, Rock and Country. I need a little more flexibility in my playing and gigs.
